We just released John Roger Barrie‘s short essay, “Two Facets of a Religion“ in a Kindle-only edition. “Two Facets of a Religion” provides timeless, ageless advice on how to unite our outer and inner spiritual lives. The Kindle edition is priced at 99 cents.
“Two Facets of a Religion“ is a chapter from John Roger Barrie‘s upcoming 2026 book, The Forgotten Gospel of Christ and Other Writings on Spirituality. In this short essay, Barrie champions the need to combine the contemplative and active aspects of our spiritual life.
Barrie writes, “What is needed, then, is a decompartmentalization of these two facets that would allow for both to exist simultaneously without conflict …” Many interfaith examples are cited in his convincing, easy-to-understand discussion.

In honor of Gerald Heard’s passing, which we commemorate today, and in remembrance of his extraordinary life, we are offering a first-ever limited-time discount of $9.00 on our 2024 60th Anniversary Hardcover edition of Gerald’s magnum opus, The Five Ages of Humanity. Caveat: Please do not shop this title on Amazon. For some unknown reason, Amazon has not picked up our price change, which was published earlier this month in anticipation of Gerald’s commemorative day today. Instead, I would recommend shopping Barnes & Noble, which is accurately displaying our discount, or else one of the independent online booksellers.
Again, we have temporarily lowered the retail price for the hardcover edition of Five Ages from $48.95 to $39.95, from now through August 29. Along with including some personal photos and intriguing images that are not in the paperback edition of Five Ages, and using lush 70 lb. paper, the highlight of this hardcover edition is a first-ever, nearly 12-page index.
